Pastor James Turner

Pastor James Turner, Jr., who has a heart to see relationships of all kinds healed, restored and made whole for the glory of the Lord, was licensed for Ministry on October 12, 1986.  He began his pastorate at the age of 29 at Galilee Missionary Baptist Church in Bryan, Texas and was ordained on January 7, 1990.  After pastoring Galilee Missionary Baptist Church for five years, the Lord called Pastor Turner to a greater work as Founding Pastor of Agape Christian Center, a ministry based on love, in Bryan, Texas. Pastor Turner, who’s ministerial credentials are with International Congress of Churches & Ministers, has traveled across the United States preaching, teaching, and ministering the word of God with a power packed anointing sprinkled with humor that brings forth healing.

Pastor Turner a native of Bryan, Texas, who graduated from Bryan High School and attended Prairie View A&M University, has frequently been an invited speaker at various Texas A & M University student organizations’ events and conferences including the Xi Psi chapter of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc. and the M.E.D.A.L.S conference.  Pastor Turner has served as Humana Hospital Chaplin, Little Dribbler’s Basketball coach for the local Boy’s Club, and District Overseer of Texas for Full Gospel Baptist Church Fellowship for three years during which time he was responsible for further developing the Full Gospel Baptist Church Fellowship of the Central District Region of Texas. Pastor Turner currently participates in “Transform BCS,” an initiative in which local city leaders engage in activities that are designed to foster better race relations in the local Bryan and College Station area communities. This initiative was launched after a young man in Pastor Turner’s congregation lost his life in a gang related shooting.

Pastor Turner has been a devoted husband since 1981, and to his union with wife and co-founder of ministry Wanda M. Turner, three children Brandon, LaTanya and Christina were born.  He is a strong believer in family, faith and love which he demonstrates in his everyday life.

Pastor Wanda M. Turner, who is committed to educating, equipping and empowering women to prosper, while maintaining a spirit of excellence, a licensed Minister and Co-Founder of Agape Christian Center in Bryan, Texas, with ministerial credentials from the International Congress of Churches & Ministers, Pastor Turner has ministered across the United States a long side of her husband, Pastor James Turner, Jr.  Through the anointing that God has placed on her life she has been graced to be a vessel that God has entrusted to transform the lives of countless women through the prayer of faith, and the impartation of “plan of action” teachings and strategies for economic empowerment, regardless of socio-economic status.

Pastor Turner graduated from Bryan High School, attended Blinn Junior College and in 1985 graduated from Bryan Vocational Nursing School. She has a Child Development Associate Credential, is registered with the Texas Early Care and Education Career Development System as a Professional Master Trainer and is presently pursuing a Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing from Lamar State College.

Pastor Turner is a frequently invited guest speaker for various local ministries and organizations and also participates in “Transform BCS”, an initiative that began after a young member of Agape Christian Center lost his life to a gang related shooting for the specific purpose of assisting city leaders in fostering better race relations in local Bryan and College Station communities.

In July 1981 Pastor Wanda married her high school sweetheart, James “Shorty” Turner Jr. and to this union three children Brandon, LaTanya and Christina were born.

Her prayer is that every man, woman and child come together in unity; so that we can all lift up the name of the Lord!

The vision of Agape Christian Center Full Gospel Fellowship is for Almighty God to use us to bring the body of Christ together where His love may be felt for all mankind, race, creed and color. A church where the body of Christ will be equipped for battle, and where God’s people can praise and reverence Him!

Mission Statement
Agape Christian Center Full Gospel Fellowship is a Christ centered nontraditional spirit filled, family oriented, progressive body of believers striving to reach the deprived and lost, by drawing all men through the spirit of love and building strong relationships with God, family, friends and others. Dedicated to building the whole person, mind, body and spirit through biblical based teaching, preaching and evangelizing, while transforming them to disciples for the Kingdom of God.

Belief Statement

We believe that God is the creator of all that exists and the church is the biblical standard for impacting the world.

We believe that everything we do must glorify God.

We believe that every member must be submitted and connected to the visionary and the vision which is ordained by God.

We believe that the word of God is the standard for the family.

We believe that what we do today affects the next four generations.

Parameters
We will not compromise God’s Word.
We will not embrace any alternative/ungodly principles.
We will not willfully engage in any activity that brings harm to the Kingdom of God.
We will not go against the Pastor as he follows God.
